COVID-19 Plasma Donation

Versiti is collecting plasma from recovered COVID-19 patients to help treat others diagnosed with the virus.

This blood-related treatment – authorized by the FDA as an Emergency Use Authorized (EUA) product – could offer hope to the hundreds of patients who continue to be diagnosed. This treatment would be used by hospitals for the most severely affected patients. Participants must be eligible to donate blood – see eligibility here.

Potential convalescent plasma donors must:

Have had a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 by physician and laboratory testing
Must be symptom free for 14 days before being eligible to donate

COVID-19 convalescent plasma has not been approved or licensed by FDA; COVID-19 convalescent plasma has been authorized by FDA under an EUA; COVID-19 convalescent plasma is authorized only for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of drugs and biological products during the COVID-19 pandemic under section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.
