A native North Carolinian, educated at the University of North Carolina, physician and scientist with an interest in developing treatments for heart attacks and strokes, Dr. Gil White came to Wisconsin 12 years ago to direct BloodCenter’s research efforts.
For most of his professional career, BloodCenter had been a place of considerable international renown, respected for its research and its diagnostic testing.
Before coming to Milwaukee, Gil had served as Chair of BloodCenter’s external Scientific Advisory Board for several years, tried to recruit some of its scientists to North Carolina, and taught every resident he had in training the main number of BloodCenter – 1-800-933-5000. Gil brings to his work scientific and medical expertise and the highest possible standards and customer focus.
Gil completed his internship and residency in 1973 at the Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed his N.I.H. Postdoctoral Fellow (NRSA) at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. White is certified and licensed by the American Board of Internal Medicine, North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners (#17457), and State of Wisconsin Medical Examining Board (#48043-020).
