Monique & Martinique

Organ & Tissue, Wisconsin

In January 2009, Monique and Martinique’s mother was taken into emergency surgery for a torn aorta. She had a massive stroke and was declared brain dead, making her a candidate for organ donation.  The family decided to honor their mother’s memory by giving the gift of life to others. “Helping others was a part of our mother’s life, she was a giver and now a part of her will live on,” said Martinique.

Monique and Martinique now advocate for organ and tissue donation by volunteering with BloodCenter’s Wisconsin Donor Network and Wisconsin Tissue Bank, speaking and attending events to help spread the word about the life-saving gift within all of us.
