Nona Rowen

Organ & Tissue, Treatment, Wisconsin

Nona lost the majority of her kidney function 10 years ago and was placed on the organ transplant list. She received a kidney transplant in May 2006. Nona says, “Receiving the gift of life is precious. You feel so grateful that you want to share with everyone how valuable that gift is. By volunteering for Wisconsin Donor Network I speak for those waiting for their gift of life.”

BloodCenter investigators continue to research ways to improve the success of organ transplants with less specific donor matches, providing increased hope to those on waiting lists.
