Football legend will cheer on blood donors and sign T-shirts October 31st!
It’s time to roll up your sleeves and show what colors you bleed! Versiti Blood Center of Ohio, the blood provider to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is excited to announce that the Buckeye player who never lost to Michigan will help kick off the 38th Annual Blood Battle with a clear intent to defeat “The Team up North.”
A blood donor himself, former Buckeye great and two-time Heisman Trophy winner, Archie Griffin, will cheer on blood donors at the Blood Battle kickoff blood drive scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 31, at the Ohio Union from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Archie will be available from 12:30pm to 1:30pm to greet donors and sign commemorative Blood Battle T-shirts.
Griffin joins former Buckeye Chris “Beanie” Wells who will also be on hand to support blood donors and sign Blood Battle T-shirts from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. In 2018, more than 4,500 blood donations were collected between the two schools during the competition. Last year, “The Team up North” won by a narrow margin, but the OSU community contributed 2,176 lifesaving donations.
There will be many campus Blood Battle drives during the month of November. Visit Versiti.org/bloodbattle for a complete listing and to schedule an appointment. Or call 1-800-485-6594 to schedule an appointment.
