Versiti Blood Center of Michigan is excited to host the Birthday Bash Community Blood Drive on May 31. Kicking off summer right, Versiti and B93.7 will be giving away 25 pairs of tickets to the 29th annual B-93 Birthday Bash, which will feature country music legend Toby Keith, along with Joe Nichols, Ryan Hurd, Frank Ray, Jackson Dean & Nate Barnes!
In addition to the ticket giveaway, donors will be treated to food and refreshments provided by our sponsors, Sobie Meats and Ludwicks's Bakery. All attempting donors will also receive a $15 e-gift card and a coupon for a pint of frozen custard from Culver's.

“The Birthday Bash is the event of the summer, and we are thrilled to be able to give away tickets to our dedicated blood donors, said Dawn Kaiser, area vice president and director of donor services, Versiti. "After a long holiday weekend, donors are encouraged to roll up their sleeves to help ensure that our local hospitals have blood available to treat patients in need."
The need for blood continues to escalate as blood donations nationwide remain lower than average. All blood types are needed, with type O positive and O negative most in demand. O positive is the most common blood type, while O-negative blood is the universal type that can be received safely by all patients in emergencies when the blood type is not known.
Anyone 17 or older who is in good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. Appointments are preferred to ensure a quick and convenient donation, but walk-in donors are also welcome. The entire process takes about an hour. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes their birth date.
