Every year, blood donations go down as schools let out – mobile blood drives at schools make up about 20% of all donations. Summer is a high-need time, as well, as any ER doctor will tell you: traumas increase with the temperature. That’s why we’re asking our donors how they’re #SavingSummer.
This summer, lend an arm and help a patient in your community. Take a selfie and share your reason for giving with the hashtag #SavingSummer on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win a Fitbit Surge. Make sure to make an appointment beforehand, too – for us, Appointments Matter. Not just because it keeps our donors happier, but it also lets us give the hospitals we serve a better idea of what they can expect to receive for their patients on a day-by-day basis.
Blood can’t be manufactured –that’s why our donors are #SavingSummer. Arm to arm, we’ll continue moving forward.
