Be the Cure: Pulse in Pink

This October, Versiti Blood Centers and ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis are turning Breast Cancer Awareness Month into action with Be the Cure: Pulse in Pink. The partnership supports survivors and life-saving treatment by linking blood donations to survivor-to-survivor programs.

The campaign runs from October 15 to 31 at Versiti donor centers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Donors can schedule at Versiti.org and enter the code ABCD in the appointment notes. For every eligible donation using the code, Versiti will contribute up to $10,000 to ABCD’s survivor-to-survivor programs.

Gretchen Jameson, EVP and chief marketing officer at Versiti, and a cancer survivor, on the cause:

“Hope isn’t abstract—it’s in every drop of blood given by a donor. This October, we’re proud to stand with ABCD to turn breast cancer awareness into life-saving action. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, I know firsthand what it feels like to need hope—and how often that hope flows through a unit of donated blood. Partnering with ABCD for Be the Cure: Pulse in Pink is personal for me and for many whose cancer journeys have been sustained by the quiet heroism of strangers who give.”

The initiative highlights a constant blood need, intensified by cancer treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and transplants. By tying a routine act of generosity to support for survivors and those in treatment, Be the Cure: Pulse in Pink makes the impact tangible. ABCD’s programs provide connection, resources, and practical assistance for people facing breast cancer.

For more information, visit Versiti.org. If you or someone you know is considering donation, mark your calendar for Oct. 15–31, find a Versiti donor center, and use the ABCD code to turn awareness into action.
